Webcasting Tradeshow Platform

If you’re looking for the latest in tradeshow displays you should check out ON24’s webcasting platform. Built on the foundation of ON24’s Webcast Center, a platform for self-published live and on-demand webcasts, the virtual tradeshow offering also incorporates the technology of iCongo, a leading provider of collaborative e-business systems and solutions. The result is a comprehensive online tradeshow solution: Attendees may now tour a virtual exhibit hall where they can interact with vendors online, download important company and/or product literature, view on-demand product demonstrations, and access contact information of each vendor’s key representatives. Live and on-demand webcasts enable thousands of attendees to view real-time keynotes, presentations, and workshops.

This virtual tradeshow solution has already been embraced by trade publishers, many who rely on ON24 as their webcasting provider of choice. Ziff Davis Internet’s eSeminars Group has enjoyed measurable success, with eager sponsors and thousands of attendees. According to Priscilla Ng, Executive Director, eSeminars, “This solution dovetails perfectly with our initiative to offer our sponsors and vendors innovative ways to reach the Ziff Davis community. The advanced technology features make the virtual experience every bit as rich as the physical one, with high levels of interactivity, real-time announcements and presentations, and sophisticated metrics that measure and report activity.”

“The virtual tradeshow is a logical next-step in the progression of webcasting, and ON24 is in the best possible position to take advantage of this development,” said Chuck Ellison, ON24’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We are pleased to work with iCongo, whose robust platform makes a first-rate complement to ON24’s industry-leading platform.”

Bay Area Tradeshow Company Rebounds

The Bay Area tradeshow display company Key3Media Group Inc. now renamed Medialive International Inc. has plans to make trade shows like Comdex more focused than in past years.

The company that has produced such top technology trade shows as Comdex and NetWorld+Interop has emerged from bankruptcy with a new name, a new chief executive officer and a plan to move its headquarters from Los Angeles to San Francisco.

The tradeshow display company generates revenue from organizing and producing the shows, including registration fees from conference attendees and selling floor space to exhibitors. Key3Media was hit hard by the economic downturn and the terrorist attacks, as companies cut back on technology spending and attendance fell at its conferences.

Attendance at the Comdex trade show, the computer industry’s seminal trade show during strong economic times, fell from a high of more than 200,000 people in the late 1990s to 125,000 after the terrorist attacks.

Shows like the Comdex trade show and NetWorld+Interop are still important to the technology industry, although their survival also depends on how well the tech economy rebounds, said analyst Tim Bajarin, president of Creative Strategies Inc. of Campbell.
